National Drinking Water Week 2008 -
Project Specifications

Superior Water Company would like to thank you for your participation in our Water Week project and wish you good luck as you begin to explore the meaning of water and its uses.

Water Week celebrates the importance of water and how it can be beneficial to all of us. Water Week also reflects on how communities can help conserve water by being conscious of our use of it and by not being wasteful.

We ask that you think of what the word "WATER" means to you and then create something that shows your ideas or thoughts. The requirements are as followed:

Please use any form of material when making your project, for example you may want to color, paint, or draw a picture, or you may want to make a 3-D model, a diagram, or chart expressing your ideas, you also may want to do a PowerPoint, but please make sure you do not use any video or audio files.

Your project can be about what the actual word "water" means to you, for example, filling a pool, brushing your teeth, fish in a river, animals in the ocean, rain feeding our trees and flowers or a rain- storm and how water is typically filtered right back into our homes.

Your project may also be about how we can treat our water better and how we can save water through conservation, for example, we can take shorter baths and showers, we can turn the water off while brushing our teeth, we can water our flowers while the sun is not shining so it doesn’t absorb all the water, or making sure our parents check our toilets for any leaks.

Please have your finished projects submitted to Superior Water Company (1885 Swamp Pike Suite 109, Gilbertsville) no later than March 2008. We have time but the sooner we receive the projects the better. We will expect them from now until March 2008.

Please know that we appreciate all of your effort and because of this, we will hand select several projects to be displayed at the National Water Week in Harrisburg in May 2008. All participants will receive a special thank you, and in addition prizes ranging from first to third place and several honorable mentions will be distributed. The individual winner’s pictures and projects (with permission) will be displayed together as well as their placed ribbons.
