Superior Water Company to attend the Fifth National Drinking Water Symposium 

The Fifth National Drinking Water Symposium will be held from October 11-14, 2009 in Orlando, Florida. Superior Water Company will be represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Louise Knight, who is on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies and participates on the Association’s national Regulatory Law Committee. The Symposium was developed by the National Association of Water Companies, the National Association of Regulatory Commissioners, the Association of State Drinking Water Administrators and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

Topics to be discussed by noted experts are broad-reaching and include:

  • Infrastructure remediation, the economic stimulus package, investment incentives and the cost and availability of capital
  • State initiatives and experiences with regulatory mechanisms deemed as best practices
  • Affordability issues, customer assistance programs and small company challenges
  • Climate change, supply challenges and the impact of technological initiatives such as desalination and water re-use
  • Energy/Water interrelationships and opportunities to maximize resources
  • Growing greener initiatives, including holistic approaches such as integrated water resource management
